Founder
Founder of Melike Altınışık Architects-MAA, Melike Altınışık aims to present an innovative approach in all her work as an architect, designer and academic and to develop the relational thinking capacity established by architectural design with new design technologies.
Her professional architectural work has developed a wide range of different scales on the international arena since 2004; from cultural building designs such as conference center, museum to custom production furniture designs. Her designs have received many prestigious awards, including Europe 40 under 40, Far Eastern International Digital Architecture Design Award (FEIDAD) and the Swiss Arts Award.
MAA Projects include the futuristic 369-meter “Istanbul TV and Radio Tower” and the world’s first pioneering “Robot Science Museum” in Seoul, South Korea. Melike Altınışık continues her national and international architectural works in MAA’s Istanbul and Seoul offices.
In parallel to her professional architectural studies, she has been invited at various educational institutions such as AA (Architectural Association, London), SAC (Staedelschule of Architecture, Frankfurt), LAU (Lebanese American University, Beirut), ITU (Istanbul Technical University), İstanbul Bilgi University as guest speaker and jury member.
Prior to founding her own architectural practice in Istanbul, she gained international experience as a Lead Architect at Zaha Hadid Architects in London (2006-2013).
She received her master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Design from the Architectural Association Design Research Laboratory (AA DRL 04’-06 ve) and received her bachelor’s degree from Istanbul Technical University.
